If you’ve been shopping at Next, but you’ve changed your mind about your purchases, it’s possible to return your unwanted items for a refund (if your items are eligible). You’ll need to make sure you do this within 14 days – that’s 14 days from the day after you receive your goods.
When will I get my refund?
Purchased your items in store and paid by cash? In this case, it couldn’t be simpler – you’ll receive your refund straight away, and you’ll get your money back in cash.
If you paid for your items another way, or you made your return by a different means, it’ll take longer to receive your refund. How long it takes to get your money back depends on how you return your items and your method of payment.
Here’s a rundown of other possibilities:
I paid for my purchase in full with my credit or debit card
If you returned your items to a Next store, it usually takes up to 2 working days for them to process your refund in full. Returns via the courier service or the Post Office aren’t as quick as that – it can take up to 14 days to be processed.
Once Next have processed your refund, you’ll have to wait for your card issuer to make the amount available to you. How long this takes will depend on your individual card issuer. In general, you’ll need to allow up to 10 days for it to appear in your account, although it can be sooner than this.
Remember – if you made your original purchase online and have an email address registered to your account, Next will send you an email letting you know your return has been processed. Just bear in mind that they won’t notify you when your funds are available in your back account.
I paid by gift card
If you used a gift card to pay for your order, and your returned some or all of the order, you’ll receive a new gift card loaded with the value of the return. If you ordered online, your new gift card will be sent in the post – and it can take up to 21 days for this to be delivered to you.
Paid for part of your order with a credit or debit card, and part with a gift card? In this case, Next will refund the amount of any returns to your credit or debit card first – then anything else will be added to a new gift card. Again, make sure you allow up to 21 days for your new gift card to be delivered to you.
I paid by eVoucher
If you paid for your order in full with an eVoucher, and you’ve got a valid email address registered to your account, the value of your return will be added back onto your original eVoucher. This will be done once Next have received your returned items.
If you don’t have a valid email address registered to your account, Next will send a gift card to you in the post. This will be to the value of the items you returned, and can take up to 21 days.
If you’ve paid for your original order with a credit or debit card and a gift card, Next will refund the value of your returns to your credit or debit card first. After that, any outstanding amount will be added to a new gift card, which will be delivered to you in the post within 21 days.
I paid by Paypal
In general, it can take around 7-9 days for your Next refund to be processed by PayPal. The exact amount of time it takes depends on which payment method you used when placing your order.
