How Does Very’s Buy Now, Pay Later work?

What is Buy Now and Pay Later?

Very, have joined other online retailers such as Littlewoods, Asos, Topshop, and Missguided by introducing a new payment plan for their customers. Option one is paying in full at once as normal, the exact same as you do in a shop, and option two gives you the option to ‘Buy Now, Pay Later’. The latter is in essence, very similar to taking out a loan and paying back in installments.

It means that if you really need something but can’t quite afford it and payday hasn’t yet come, you can pay a set amount to Very over an agreed time. All you need to pay back each month is a minimum of £5 or 7% of your balance – typically it is whichever is greater. Pay as much as possible each month to avoid falling into debt with Very.

Outstanding payments and debt

If your payment has not been made in full on or before the agreed time, you will be charged any outstanding debt, plus a lump sum of compound interest to your account. Interest charged will be at your account rate.

How do I make payments?

Set up a direct debit using your bank account number and the matching bank card sort code. Very will remind you of your outstanding payments to prevent you from entering debt. Login to your Very account page click ‘Make a Payment’ and you will be given a list of options. Pay in full, pay now, buy later or ‘Take 3’. Take 3 splits your cost into 3 equal payments.
