AsSeenOnScreen, more commonly known as ASOS are one of the worlds leading fashion and clothing brands targetting the 20+ market. We have put together some of our top tips to ensure your ASOS shopping experience is as good as it possibly can be, helping you to avoid the mistakes that so many others make.
Know your budget
Before you set off on your online shopping adventure, make sure you set yourself a budget so you know exactly how much you have to spend. Not everyone can afford a brand new £100 pair of jeans, so don’t overstretch yourself. With that in mind though, ASOS is full of options to suit all budgets so you are sure to find what it is you are looking for.
ASOS takes advantage of Klarna, a buy now pay later system but be careful, it can be dangerous. So many people make the mistake of overspending because they think they can just pay it off next month, without factoring in the fact that they actually have to pay it back. Use it wisely. You have 30 days to pay back what you order, so it’s great if you are nearing payday and your money is a little short of supply, but just remember, it’s not free clothes.
Sort your options by size
There’s nothing worse than finding exactly what you’ve been looking for to find out they don’t stock it in your size. Save yourself the disappointment and sort the items you’ve searched for by size. This means you will only see the items that they have in stock in your size. This means you won’t get that excited flutter thinking you’ve found the one, to be left disappointed.
One of the best things about ASOS is the size variety they stock. Whether you are tall or needing a plus size section, they will have something that fits you. We would always advise you order a couple of different sizes to try on, you can always send the one back that doesn’t fit free of charge.
Know what your style is
ASOS is home to well over 80,000 different products, so before you head in, know exactly what it is you are looking for and what style you are hoping to achieve. ASOS do have recommended products based on what you’ve ordered and do have recommended styles, but it’s not always what you want.
Always try and search for exactly what you are looking for. For example, if you are trying to find a “black oversized men’s jumper” then search for exactly that. It is highly likely they will have something identical, or very similar to what you search for.
Try and use keywords and product-specific words if you can, it heightens your odds of actually finding what you are looking for. If you find something you like you can always save the item for later and buy it once you’ve had a look around. Just make sure you don’t get left behind, some items do go fast on ASOS, particularly in the sale.
If you are struggling for inspiration, ASOS has an insiders page. This is where you can get all your inspiration for your next outfit. Their insiders will give you hints, tips and advice on what’s in, and what looks good. They have their own special shop page where they store items they love, and you can take their advice on board.
Keep your eyes peeled for sales time
One of the best things about ASOS is they always have items in the sale. Their sales are anything from their living & gifts section, to branded trainers and their own branded clothing. There’s always some form of sale on, so keep your eyes peeled and get in there fast before all the good stuff has gone!
If you are a student, also note that you get at least 10% off every purchase you make on ASOS. Sometimes they have special offers on where students can get anywhere between 20% and 50% off on select items.
Use the ASOS hashtag #ASSEENATHOME
Hashtags like #ASSEENATHOME are great for finding new styles and inspiration for future purchases. This is where fellow ASOS shoppers and ASOS models pose in their favourite outfits, giving you the inspiration you need. This is where you will find all the new style combinations that you didn’t realise existed yet. Once you’ve made a purchase you can always use the hashtag yourself to show others how good you look in your new outfit.
If you have any questions about ASOS or their policies and products, you can call ASOS directly and they will be more than happy to help you with any enquiries you may have.
