  • Breakdown Cover
  • Insurance
  • Route Planner
  • Buying a Car
  • Car Care
  • Car Accessories – Batteries, Mats etc

They’re most renowned for their breakdown cover and recovery. Their cover starts from around £6 a month, with the more expensive packages coming with better perks. RAC also offers a number of different insurance, from your standard car/van/black box insurance to home insurance and travel insurance. There’s also an online shop where you can buy car parts and travel essentials like Sat Navs and car mats.

How do you join the RAC?

Joining is an incredibly easy process, regardless of whether you’re looking for insurance, breakdown cover and a new accessory for your car. If you’re looking for breakdown cover, there’s a 9 step process to build the covers package you want. The process is as follows:

  1. Confirm you’re looking for roadside coverage
  2. Add vehicle recovery if necessary
  3. Do you need alternative transport to get home?
  4. Add cover if your breakdown happens at home
  5. Is a battery replacement necessary? Add a new battery
  6. Have you lost your keys? Add key replacement
  7. Do you need any new tyres? You can select to add tyre replacement
  8. You can then add cover for any vehicle
  9. Lastly, you select how many vehicles in total you would like to add cover for

Each step costs a different amount so the more you add the higher your price will become. Once you’ve selected each bit of coverage you want, you’ll be given a set price. You can then go back and add and take out the different parts. You can select to view either an annual or monthly cost.
