To join Giffgaff, you need to follow three simple stages, they are as follows:
1 – Pick up your free sim
You can apply for a free sim card through the Giffgaff website. Most sims will arrive the next day so you can get started and activate it straight away.
2 – Buy a mobile phone or unlock your current phone
If you have a phone that you like already then you simply need to get it unlocked so any sim card can be used. You can also buy a phone through the Giffgaff site. This can be bought outright or on a pay monthly plan. Monthly plans are spread over 24 months.
Tip: If your phone is on O2, it will work with a Giffgaff sim card and won’t need to be unlocked.
3 – Buy or plan some credit
They have a number of different plans that you can choose from. These are called Goodybags and you get to select the amount of data you need alongside minutes and texts. Depending on the amount of data you need, is how much you’ll pay a month. The more data the more you pay.
If you want to change your plan, you can do so on a monthly basis. So, if you want to reduce the amount your paying or increase it, then this can be done monthly.

Can I keep my old phone number?
The simple answer is yes. You will need to apply for a PAC code from your old mobile network provider. Once you have this number you simply call the Giffgaff contact number and speak to one of their team. This will then get transferred over to your new phone and your friends and family can contact you on the same number.

- Put your sim card into any unlocked phone and away you go!
