A brief history into giffgaff
Back in 2008, Giffgaff was created without the need for high street shops or high-cost call centers. Instead, they created giffgaff, the mobile network run by you. It is based entirely online and maintained by their members, not customers. The money that giffgaff saves is poured straight back into their community. It is not one person, it’s an entire community of loyal members helping one another. Giffgaff is owned by O2 and runs on the O2 network.
Giffgaff is becoming an increasingly popular option for many when deciding on a new sim. The reason being, they offer complete flexibility in their deals meaning there’s no monthly or annual contract tying you down. You can stay if you want or leave when you want. It’s entirely up to you. If you want to leave EE, Three, Vodafone, or another provider and joining the mobile network run by you, find out more about giffgaff’s sim plans.
What do they really mean?
Giffgaff is much more than a phone service. Giffgaff has thousands of members who run the forums – ‘giffgaff, the mobile network run by you’. The members will answer any questions and send updates or change annoucements. You don’t have to be a member to view the community messages, but you do if you want to contribute. Within, you will find tonnes of free resources on phone support, guides, tips, general chit-chat, and even forums for members to showcase their photography skills.
The best part? If you contribute to the community or refer a friend to join giffgaff, you receive payback points and overtime they equate to a reward. At the end of each month, giffgaff will send you a message telling you how much your points are worth. Twice a year you can convert your points into either money, credit, or a charity donation. For every charity donation, giffgaff has promised to match it pound for pound.
